I had some issues with getting a clear answer on when my move in date would be. After calling a few times I finally got a concise answer but it lagged on to almost a week before I was supposed to move in which made me anxious on whether I was going to get a place or not. Everything thankfully worked out, and I was given paperwork to fill out. I did everything hoping I would get a follow up on some questions I had about premoving procedures. I didnt receive many responses and when my move in date arrived the painter just came out telling me that the cabinets were wet, I never had a walking inspection, I asked for the key and although the agent was nice and understanding, didnt check with us on the apartment. When I finally opened the door, I noticed cigarette smell that flooded my apartment, a door was broken, the blinds were dirty, and the cabinets were wet with paint. I commend everything else and that is why I give it a 3 stars. The apartment was at least presentable and the layout and people are nice and orderly. Because we moved in during the weekend we really had no solutions about the smoke smell other than buying our own ozone machine to fumigate the apartment. Come Monday, we were told that everything will be handled that day. We didnt smell new smoke which was nice but we didnt receive any follow up on other issues and what was being done.
My advice would be to ensure every new tenant receives adequate attention upon their move in process. I would expect a rundown on everything in the apartment so we can address issues firsthand. I would also hope that they increase their staff to be able to adequately respond to issues beforehand in getting everything ready for the new tenants arrival. If you give a person a move in date male sure you have everything ready by then.
I'm happy for the apartment, I'm happy for the community, Im happy for the nice management. I would just hope they consider these things prior so new tenants have less stress coming in.
