We moved here after having many terrible experiences at Midtown 360, and itâs starting to seem like there arenât any honest, decent apartment complexes at all around here. Both places deserve zeros.
We were shown a model unit because the one weâd be moving in was still occupied. After getting our keys and upon inspection of the place, it became apparent that they had used the term âremodeledâ quite loosely. What few things had been âupgradedâ had been done so poorly it completely counteracted the effect. Paint and spackel drips everywhere, chips in cheap cabinet veneer, etc. It seems like they hadnât even had it professionally cleaned, as there was dirt and bugs everywhere, grossly discolored showers, filthy windows and even food still stuck between appliances. Under no circumstances is it acceptable for me to have to deep clean the apartment Iâm moving into as well as the one Iâm moving out of, in addition to my job and other responsibilities.
Whatâs worse, there were a slew of problems and damages from past tenants, including broken blinds that collapsed on me the moment I touched them, and completely corroded, rusted shower drains- to the point of hazard and non-use. Their response to my complaint about the showers in particular was âsorry, a past tenant mustâve used chemicals that ruined them, but since they arenât broken we canât replace themâ.
Weâre still trying to get everything moved into this place and I already feel like Iâve made a gigantic mistake, not that I had any good options to start with. I wasnât going to stay at Midtown after half of the building flooded, a long-standing parking shortage (and aggressive towing problem), maintenance issues up the wazoo, huge noise issue, the fire alarm going off constantly (including in the middle of the night and on holidays two years running), completely uninformed and unhelpful office workers, people smoking in the parking garage, maintenance men walking into our apartment while I was in the shower and showing up without appointments to slice Into our walls. And thatâs just off the top of my head.
